EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Then put a twinkie in the microwave.
That is too depressing.
I forgot to mention that the complaint department is closed for inclement weather in the south. There's no bread or milk left in the stores, this is serious folks! :lau

Better be careful, you could wind up on the porch with Banty! I have a bag of tootsie roll pops in my desk drawer. :yesss:
I have a better place for him. ;)
Give me a box of snakes, a torch, a spool of thread, and a skewer and then I'll go live in the basement. Oh, but I'm taking the beanbag chair with me.
Okay. She doesn't use it much anyway. BTW, don't sit in the rocker. It's from the 1800's.
Moved the duck house to the pond! Roof and doors up. Hoping to get them into their house on Monday.

Nice!! :thumbsup
Morning all.... The number of posts here make it a daunting task to open and read them...... MCC Thanks for the morning and I did not eat a fluffy duck yet today. I feel so sorry for you people down south suffering though temps 20 degrees above zero and getting dumped on with a whole inch or two of snow. I think you should just take the whole day off ( Did the sarcasm come through?) It is 40 degrees colder here and we have more snow on the ground than you will get in 10 years..... Enjoy the day, and I need someone to go get eggs for me.....
Duckling will do it! She vacuums too!
I actually do not envy the ice you get, it is far worse than the snow to me. We normally do not get ice, this year we have ice with snow on top of it. Not fun at all. My butt has a HUGE bruise from falling on it so often this year.

Actually it's Oklahoma that's awful cold, my mom and dad grew up in PA and my dad and mom have been every state but Alaska and Hawaii and they say OK is the coldest place they've been.

Really? I don't see it. Though I've been across America throughout the year, all year, for several years. Unless they're truckers, they need more variables.

Thanks y'all! We have great volunteers. I can take zero credit on this.. I gave them this pic from google:

And they made me a palace! The only suggestion I made was for external boxes with doors so I can see all the way into the nests because snakes. They planned for me to reach in through the cleaning hatch.

I'm not scared of the snakes at the farm, but the pond snakes are terrifying.

Quote: Ice was so thick here one year that I couldn't stomp a hole in it to get traction, but I had to make it down the hill to water the dogs. By holding onto saplings along the way, I was able to get down, but couldn't get any footing to make it to a sapling on the way back. I hollered to DW to throw me a rope, but she couldn't find one, so she threw me one of the heavy extension cords so I could pull myself back to level ground.
