EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Oh, they were up on the crate that is the height of the 50 gallon barrels I lock feed in. I feed and water my cat up there. Thus they were about waist high and two feet in front of me when I ducked under the tarp and stood up. Your brain goes oh s***. I don't normally use bad language, but well. SKUNK!
I'll say! I nearly stepped on a family of three whilst coming out of the coop one day; barely stopped myself by grabbing the door jam.

They were really cute, I hated to have my neighbour shoot them, but no way no how was I going to risk my chooks....

They are even ugly when they hatch (red/blue marks are sharpie).

@Sally Sunshine

Morning y'all. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Just to give everyone a laugh for the morning at my expense.
My complaint about this snow/ice mixture of junk we got over the weekend has been the fact that North Carolinians don't know how to handle it. Well turns out neither does a boy from north Alabama. Was cleaning the shed last night and had some empty feed sacks that I for some reason decided to put outside the door. Decided it was time to go in for the night after dark, forgot about the feed bags directly in front of the door. I was dancing for what seemed like forever before finally catching one knee and the opposite hand on the frozen ground. Turns out a plastic feed sack on a sheet of semi-frozen ice is slicker than green duck chit on a frozen pond. Its all good though, everything seems fine this morning. Lesson learned, feed sacks don't go in front of the shed door.
