I built a cabinet incubator (thanks for the info specially sally). Test runs are great but having no luck with humidity. Any tips? tried various pan arrangements with wicks. I'very started a cooler hatcher project as well and hope to be full go by the end of January but no luck getting any humidity whatsoever. Doesn't help I heat with wood and it's winter

I do that already. Contemplating a humidifier run off a humidistat but was hoping to keep it a tad less complicated...

sorry for the repeat! Still learning on the fly... Has anybody got any input on automatic humidity control good or bad?

USB powered (5V DC) ultrasonic humidifiers may work. You can watch the humidity with a hygrometer and shut the humidifier when the chamber reaches the desired humidity. The water in the glass also helps to maintain the humidity inside.

Wonder if this little guy would run with a homemade cotton wick and put on a 2ltr soda bottle.....
Thinking a hose and humidity controller may work with this? and for a wick to lengthen perhaps a small pc of pvc with holes drilled in it and tampons in it lol

Hi Banty. I've got 18 duck eggs!

Good Morning all.

First day this week that my morning wasn't crazy hectic, thank goodness.

Went out to feed the flock this morning and my LO rooster and I startled each other. I don't think he really meant to even come near me, so I'm going to give him a free pass this time. He basically used my legs to push off and fly in the other direction. If I had been wearing long pants, it wouldn't have cut me.

All of you with chicks have given me chick fever! My daughter is loving the ayam cemani and now wants that to be our next eggs. I'm not 100% settled on what we are going to hatch next, but I really need to wait until after spring break when we hatch for the school. I don't need too many chicks, my chicken math is already a problem.
