Quote: according to them her basic labs were fine, I assume her lows and highs are not great enough to cause any alarm. But I would think they would have ran specific tests for her. Nothing was done. Makes me so mad the doc wont return my calls. I feel horrible I know for a fact she is in pain, she wakes up moaning all night and when she doesnt know we are checking on her, her face still in grimace and holding gut. She is barely eating lost 4 lbs as of Friday, no clue how much now. I feel bad because I have to tell her suck it up and deal with it because you have to go to school at this point, because I have no answers or reasons for her not to go, its not gonna happen I know it, but ugggggggg I feel so confused at this point.
So sorry. I don't have any specific ideas.

My eyes hurt from staring at the screen - gonna take a break from the spreadsheet work and check on the chickens. And probably fire up that pneumatic stapler - get those brooders FINISHED!!!!!

- Ant Farm
awwwwww what a manly chicky chick you have!! lol
did you video him?
getter done !!!

and thank you
I tried a few times, I keep missing it. But I've had baby crowers among my cream legbar baby boys (I contacted the breeder from whom I got their Daddy, and she said he and his brothers all crowed super early as well). So I'm pretty sure that's what's happening - also the way he stranded and extends his wee little head and neck. (I'll keep trying to get a video.)

Re: HarmonyAnn - lots of things could be what's going on, but Crohns disease is something to consider. Pediatricians have a history of missing it in kids (some of them think of it as an adult disease, esp. if atypical). I kinda agree on the cutting out milk and gluten part - it can't hurt, and it could be she's reacting to one or the other. Just a thought. Still sending you/her vibes.

Hey y'all!

I'm new a second opinion on this:
I'm wanting to start a Lavender Naked Neck project. And in order to get the Lavender gene into the naked necks, I need a Lavender bird. So my 2 options are Orpington or Ameraucana. Should I go for the bigger sized Orpington or the blue egg laying Ameraucana?
Thanks!
@deserteggs22 - Hey! I'm not caught up yet over there, so I don't know if you posted this on the Naked Neck thread, but you should - lots of people who have experience with lots of crosses - you can get info on expected and unexpected results. If I were you, I'd cross with Lavender Ameraucana. You'd get green eggs, and you'd also get pea combs. Pea combs reduce feathering further in Naked Necks (though they don't in non-Naked Necks. Kev on the NN thread can explain). I'd LOVE to get the pea comb into my NNs, but my Lav Am cockerel was killed.

I'm on Day 15, lockdown on Sunday. Set 12 GNH x NN eggs, still have 10 alive and kicking (literally), also set 6 Marans x Ameraucana eggs, hard to tell if they're ok, air cells are way too big, we'll see if they hatch/survive.

@BantyChooks - First set has hatched - all 10 NN x GNH, and 4 of the 6 Marans x Ameraucana eggs. GOOD MORNING, COFFEE PEEPS!

Good Morning all and thank you for the coffee beautiful Abi! (Now, I suddenly want to make a cup of hot chocolate and put a peep in it.)

I saw on the sign at Starbucks this morning that they have a new "Snickerdoodle" Hot Chocolate....thinking I may have to try that at some point.

.....

I can't remember what all I missed this weekend in my read back, I was on my phone, and lost all of my quotes.

@Sally Sunshine I am sorry to hear that your daughter isn't any better, prayers that you find answers soon, poor kid!

To get in on the rabbit talk, I LOVED my rabbits, I had 4 of them and they were 8 years old when someone came in our backyard one day and killed them all. It was horrible. I was 18 and I remember being so upset. We had just moved and I thought it was the worst place ever because someone intentionally killed my rabbits. They left them laying in a row outside of their run.

I think that's what I'm gonna do. Now all I gotta do is find someone with Lavender Ameraucana eggs for not too expensive.

GOOD MORNING, COFFEE PEEPS!

Thanks, MC! I needed that!!!!

Quote:
Agree with Chaos! I have always loved those stackable brooders. I was in Lowes the other day, and there was a metal rack with wide shelves. My first thought was "I could get three brooders in there"!!!

It is going to be a bad day!

I just saw 4 squirrels in the yard. I may have to spend the day hunting them down, torturing them to see where the rest are hiding and then dragging them to the compost pile!

That actually sounds like fun - too bad I have to work. Get one for me!!!

OK, gotta run!
