EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

$25 as long as it is not the one with the feather stubs that you were talking about on here.

You could get more if there is no one else in the area who has them, but without a hen to breed him with he is just a cool bird and won't make anyone any $.
no one has them around here only cross breeds. And he is perfect all black nothing wrong

$25. Without a good hen he can't make pure breed babies. Also if he is just 3 months old he could still develop faults like a mulberry comb as he matures. Lots of the boys look fabulous as youngsters and then loose their jet black comb as they mature.

People would be better of buying good quality eggs or chicks in the hope of getting a pair.

I have eggs moved into the hatcher, BUT I think I moved them a day early. It is possible they do not hatch until Sunday. Oh well, they will do fine......

I thought I put them in the incubator on Friday or New years eve day. my thoughts area little fuzzy from that time period...... When I candled them they look a little underdeveloped...

Good thing turning is more crucial in beginning than end. I dare not move them for fear of dropping them. 100% made it from incubator to hatcher without bouncing off the Cement, so I had to chance it again.

Section closest to us, 2 cuckoo Marans and 10 toads.

Middle section, 6 Yokohama and 6 Dominques.

back section 2 Cuckoo Marans, 2 yokohamas and 13 legbars.
those toad eggs are HUGE!! Good Luck!!
A few years ago it was $4500 here, but there are a lot about now. Lots of people have got them thinking they can make big money. Only a few made anything significant.

I don't have time to wait for real money for a rooster that I want to move on. Just want to enjoy the birds.
and they are still a big work in progress

I can't remember when I collected eggs yesterday, but I know that both of my EE are laying again!! :celebrate
:jumpy
I have eight eggs out of 13 (I think. IDK) but I can't be sure how many are from which day.

They sure are last year when I was setting turkey eggs, because of my foolproof marking system, and because a couple of the Toad eggs had spots. I put them in with the turkey eggs...

I went to check Humidity and temps on them at 21 days and I heard chicks inside the incubator. Two had hatched and fell to the floor of the incubator...Silly Birds.

I was really baffled at first thinking there is no way a turkey hatched a week early....Then I saw them.

I really should not mark both turkey eggs and Toad eggs with just a T.

:lau :gig Maybe try a capital T and a lower case T, or a fancy T and a plain T.
