I did not read all the posts. But I have to comment on this one'

You have a rusty slate tom! They are the most versatile Toms if you are breeding for colors. That have Bb Dd Rr genotypes. I have one and I use him a lot for non-APA varieties.

The rabbits here cannot burrow unless they can chew through concrete the ground is so frozen..

Rabbits do not bother me this time of year. The Coyotes they lead to the farm do....

In the summer I shot them on sight because of what they do to my garden.

You should shot them in the winter, too; they taste better. Taste just like chicken.

Ok guys a little excitement around here the past few hours. Power went out due to strong winds blowing down power poles. As you know I'm /we are incubating here. So hot water bottles and move the chicks to a new box with the bottles. 4 eggs are quitters one NN almost made it but he died along with the quitters. 15 hatched which leaves 4 eggs left. I put them in an egg carton on the hearth as I'm cleaning up the incubator. Well the wife hears them chirping and tells me she's hearing them. I can't hear them but tell her that when I get every thing cleaned up I'll try and keep them warm till power comes on. Not giving them much of a chance as it's already a day late, and power was off 3 hours. So she takes them and puts them under the blanket with her as I finish up. She says not only are they peeping but she can feel them moving. Power is back on now and they are back in incubator three have pipped external now.
