I don't envy him.

This one is of the leghorn/CCL hen with NN rooster. Green eggs. Of the four green eggs all hatched 12 hours early 3 white one brown

I think this one is both NN parents four of these hatched 24 hours late. All four were same egg shape all four were the ones my wife held in her lap while power was out. Just long enough to warm them back up and then power was back on

That's wonderful that they made it! What a little screamer!

Yep, that one looks like homozygous NN, so would agree likely both are Naked Neck parents.

Well, I FINALLY got the new Eggplant paddock done early this afternoon, and was able to let them out again (now that Monkey has been incorporated into the flock). I was able to watch them all afternoon (from my new lounge chair!!!!!)

The good news is that he is relatively good with them (with the occasional unwelcome mating attempt), he is watchful, and growls with an overhead predator (hawk) and all his hens listen and run for cover. The FUNNY part is that he's a big boy with a wide stance, and he's still getting the hang of chicken sex. Fortunately, the Cream Legbars seem to adore him, and are always at his side and will squat for him at a moment's notice. It's good that they're patient while he tries (and fails, and tries, and fails, and tries again) to keep his balance on top. And it's hysterical that every time he successfully did the deed, he then promptly fell off the FRONT of the hen, essentially onto his face.

Hatching update:
#1: OE-Puppy-Switch candle Day 14: all weights ok (the OEs have still lost too much, but it has slowed down since they are under high humidity). All NN eggs are healthy and moving. Three of the OE look good, two have veins but also have some dark mottled areas near veins that make me worry. We'll see - they are hard to see into in great detail despite two candlers, so I'll still put them all in lockdown.

#2: Puppy-Switch hatch #2 - candle day 7: All happy, healthy, and moving around.

(And I kinda sorta started saving more eggs...

@BantyChooks

Ok, I need to cook some chicken in the pressure cooker tonight, then more brooder set up in preparation for moving the little hoodlums out of my bathroom into the bigger brooder in the other house. BBL...

Don't act so bored you must have Grizzly killed Seal or  better yet walrus on your side of Iceland......

Eh, I already got the 17 killed today gutted and packaged... After dark, there ain't much more. Had to beat the grizzlies off a few of them, but nothing out of the ordinary.

SO MAD. :lol:
But they're all alive!

That's better than dead!
