I still have two RSL's and they don't seem to care where they lay. They won't use the roost pole. but will lay in the middle of the coop or out in the run once in a while, instead of one of the nest boxes. I've found eggs out in the chicken yard a few times. I swear they have brains the size of a gnat.

They sure ain't the smartest chooks I've ever owned

You probably missed his picture of a trench he'd cut in the ice for trolling. Never heard of that one through the ice.
