I'm exhausted. I just spent the past couple hours making dividers, seperating birds, and setting up nests and waterers. Finally, I have my lavender ameraucanas, CCL, and silkies seperated. I even scrubbed up the dirty rabbit hutch, set it up, and moved my broody and her baby there for a safe place for the next week or two. I'm ready to crash now but gotta make supper for the kids. At least I'll be getting some pure eggs in a couple weeks.
Bank on at least 3 weeks.
Sometimes, as many breeds as I'd like to have, I'm happy I only have one breed. In case some get conjugal visits, I still have purebreds. When I get back from vacation, I'll get serious about separating birds and tracking their breeding.
All but 2 roosters and a few hens are free ranging all day now. That's 4 roosters, 4 cockerels and untold number of hens/pullets. They normally stay together in about 3 groups.

For stealing eggs

Call the authorities if you see her,

This is what the hidden cameras showed:

The FBI says those look like her feet in the picture with the remains of the stolen egg.

Good for you - It's so exhausting some days!!!

I got all the weights for the chicks from the Hatch from 1/11/17 - big kids, all the boys (yes, I can tell) are all over 6 ox each at 2 weeks.

(They're a little dirty - I use peat under the shavings)

This boy was 6.88 oz at 2 weeks.

The only girl (who looks overwhelmed ALL the time):

I was sent some eggs that got pretty roughed up during shipping. Dang post office; they're usually really good my packages. Most of the eggs have slipped air cells, and a few have completely detached cells. I've got them resting pointy side down at the moment.

My question is, my incubator is a Brinsea Maxi II, which incubates the eggs on their sides. If I can't get the air cells to reattach will that affect hatching?
