EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Quote: He'll probably be back by morning, when he gets hungry. I never went looking for a cat, but I've driven up & down roads looking for dogs. I never found one; all except one beat me home. That one wound up sleeping in a barn a mile away, where the farmer took her in. A month later a woman who worked with DW & lived across the road from the farm happened to spot her there. She told DW about it, & I went to pick her up; she was fine. Strange part about it was she was wearing a collar with my name & phone number on it, as did all my dogs, just in case.

Oops...meant for Jess...she'll probably see it.

That happened with my indoor cat Cheetah once - I was so upset, made flyers, etc. She turned up 2 days later, and best I could tell, she had been hiding under my deck during the bad weather. (I had greyhounds at the time, and they leave her alone indoors, but outside she was fair game, and when she got out it was when I was letting the greyhounds into the yard, and she ran for her life.) I'll hope that maybe she's tucked away safe somewhere near the house. If he's an indoor cat, maybe he'll stay close to home. Can you put a box with towels in it near the door or on the porch?

Monro is home safe! He really scared me this time but he's perfectly fine :) Thank you!

I need to vent. We're not having much luck with our pets lately. It's almost been a week since Dreamy passed away and this evening, our cat, Monro got out. He's not an outside cat. He's gotten out a few times in the past but he's never gone far and always came back as soon as he saw or heard us outside. I was busy doing things tonight and didn't notice that he was missing until after dark. We followed what tracks we could find but my light died on us. He's somwhere out in the woods and I'm very worried for him. He's not used to the cold and there are so many predators around here. I don't even have my car tonight to go searching. I know it's supposed to snow more tonight which will hide his tracks from us by morning. I put up his picture on facebook and tagged all my neighbors, and turned on the big light by the driveway so it's bright in front of the house in case he's still nearby. I'm not sure what else to do at this point except maybe wait for hubby to get home at midnight and then drive around :/
He wearing anything with your phone # on it.

I tried quoting you before, but quoted Ralphie by mistake; check it out if you want.

Thank you :) He's a spoiled, 9 year old brat and is BIG. My husband found him when he was as big as my palm in the middle of the road while he was test driving a car at work. He was terrified, alone, flea infested, and couldn't even eat solid food yet. We named him Monro after the garage my husband was working at lol

Just a black and grey collar with a bell. We may need to invest in a tag though.
