EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

So turns out that Husband's grandpa (who is going into a home soon) has three chickens left (one really handsome rooster and two bantam baby girls) and if we don't take them then they die.

SO GUESS WHAT WE'RE GETTING TOMORROW. We plan on giving them dewormer and a bath in antiparasitic soap as well as a full health checkup before we even begin thinking of integrating. Thankfully they come with their own coop and we'll have room for everyone. Plus it'll make it easier to have everyone all playing nice before we move.

Hello!
I am currently breeding my ducks, hope to start storing eggs at the very end of this month. I have my anconas 1 boy, 2 girls, in a seperate small pen. My magpie boy and girl in the big pen, with a black runner girl. My Campbells are in the big pen to, but I'm not going to be incubating eggs from them. I am currently getting an egg a day, from an ancona. I cracked open today's egg to check fertility. I don't think it is. But just wondering if you think otherwise. Here's the pic.

I am wondering how many fertile eggs does a girl usually have from one mating? I've seen my ancona boy mating. Not the Magpie yet though, he's been doing courtship displays however. Just waiting for the rest of the girls to start laying, and for my magpie drake to get going. Any advice?
