Locked down the eggs early, I candled two and they're internally pipped/ready to

Oooooh... to keep kicked stuff inside. Yeah, I have one that's a few inches high, only partially effective for the baby chicks, but this is in a "non-living" space (at least no one's living there now). Easy enough to replace them with bigger boards. (You guys are terrible enablers...) I LOVE that second photo! Amazingly cute! Nope, it's just chore day, at least for me. I did get the coop cleaned well one of them. Straw put in egg buckets and under roost. Cookies are next. Then put birds away. Rest first.

Got my first pullet egg from the Altsteriers chicks that hatched at the end of September. Finally the age they were supposed to lay. Past two generations have been at 6 months. Completely surprised today.
