Candled eggs on Sat. They seemed different than all of my previous day 10ish candles. Wound up leaving 38 out of the 41 in, only pulled 3 that were definite clears. Almost all the rest of them seemed different though, I could see eyes and other stuff inside with slight movement but no defined veins like I recall seeing on previous hatches. I left them in just to see what happens but not really sure how this hatch will turn out. Something just seemed odd about them. Interestingly enough the 3 that were pulled some of the most recently collected.

Quote: I'm getting a bit of a late start so I bought transplants - just potted them all up in gallon pots (burying most of the stem) to get them to develop as many roots as possible. It's the only practical way for them to survive the summer (When I plant them, I'll plant sideways and bury most of the stem.) Around here, I don't bother putting them in the ground before March 1 unless I'm prepared to easily protect form frost at a moment's notice. Which I'm not. So pots it is until mid-March (when the beds will be ready anyway).
