As soon as I posted the bunny, I thought "Abi is going to take away my duckling and do nothing but shove spiders in my face for the next few days."

Wasn't going to? Have you ever passed up an opportunity to torment moi?

The only tormenting I see seems to come from you... The rest of us are extremely well behaved...

And I am very neutral on this stuff too...

so

So build a platform as high as far off the ground as you want it, lay out the walls on it, stand 'em up & nail 'em down. Obvious over-simplification, but that's the gist of it.

That's the current idea. Gonna go for a gambrel style roof & possibly a concrete pad.... It wouldn't be much more expensive than a properly supported raised floor; for the size I'm getting anyway. Couldn't do it myself, but I could snag a few helpers for that part.

Edit: It's gonna be more like a mini barn than a coop.

Is this for guinea fowl or guinea pigs?

For your guinea pigs...

Hey all I am caught up!!

WHew having to catch up and comment is a lot of work,,,

I most admit I did not look at the "coop" banti was building.....

I would assume it is a igloo style coop... Like most people in northern Iceland have...

I have 2 chicks that hatched in January and I'm pretty sure they're both boys.
10 chicks that hatched ranging from 1 to 2 weeks ago.
The 2 older ones are going into the coop today. I may even move the littles out today or tomorrow if I get it set up right.
I have 45 eggs due to hatch on the 28th. I need more space but I hope to sell a bunch of those.
I decommissioned a building that proved vulnerable to mink and then raccoons chewed their way into one of the pop doors. I'm trying to redesign it because I really need it as a grow out coop.
