Hi everyone! I had an incubator failure. One egg hatched at 76 degrees and the inside of it's shell is coated with blood. I moved everything to another incubator I was running. 4 more have hatched, but I'm not home to check the shells. All 5 chicks are moving around, so I guess that cold chick is still alive.

Was the cold bator the reas on there was so much blood in the shell? What should I look for in the chick?

Oh no, glad you had another incubator running. Not certain about the blood.

I remembered I had chicks hatching, so I went down and looked at them..

I think I had a good a hatch. I have 2 trays loaded with chicks.


I did see I have another Frost White legbar....Ca Ching!!!

I think i will do this every time from now on.best hatch is happening.like 6 babys and like 18 pips.all hatching quick and clean.all except like 7 are pipped. Day. 20 hatch day isnt till tommorow

So much for trying to sleep - the surprise big storm system that took out @kajira 's power just hit here a few minutes ago - holy chit, it's like the friggin' world is ending out there. And I just got a tornado warning on my phone, telling me to take shelter now. Somehow I think it was the wrong day to take that protective wind guard off of the naked neck coop - they are basically roosting in the open air part (like always) and getting pelted right now. At least it's 71F (which is bizarre, and explains the weird weather).

No wonder I've had a migraine all day with weather like this. I heard something metal and loud. I don't even want to know what this is doing to my roof... I am trying not to think about my chickens, since there's really nothing I can do about it.

I hope everyone survived the storm.

thank u I think only like 8 or 9 left to hatch of 34 in lockdown.if so would that be a 100% hatch.because the other couple I threw away where not fertile
