EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

That can be hard. I send a lot of my boys through the sale barn. They went for $2.70-2.80 a lb last year. I don't know how much you know on goats, but my vet who raises and judges goats said to make sure any male kept for breeding is wide at the hips. Specifically, that if you put your fingers on the top hip bone and side them down and back that they need to get wider to the next set of bones. It is important for future does. I need to go look at a goat anatomy chart for names.
Good morning.
Our billy's so far have been fairly "stout" as I like to call them. I'm not keeping any of these babies from my pgymy's though - i'll milk them and sell all the babies, but for the most part, i'm not going to continue breeding pygmies, I don't think.

I want to get rid of all of them and get strictly nubians/spanish goats after this. Blueberry is a "spanish" goat. (i.e. she's nubian and something else. haha)

Could you add a side to that thing so you could just push her up against the side and not have to lean over the top?
No. She likes the pressure on top. So did my last goat. Pressure on the sides wasn't what calmed them down, it was the weight on their top that made them relax.

Oh okay, that might be a little harder to build something for

Mount an eye bolt on the floor of the stand on either side of the goat, grab a bungee cord and strap the goat down.

Interesting idea. LOL

I'm not a fan of hobbling goats. I know it doesn't hurt them, but the idea of tying their feet down makes ME panic... I don't like being tied down. But, I like pressure and hugs... so maybe thats why i'm a goat hugger. ^.^
