I think the WWD is on the warpath. I am going to try to avoid her today..

It started last night while we were watching TV, I nicely mentioned, so as to keep her informed, "I think I am going to buy another incubator and hatcher"...

You would have thought I said something about her heritage..WOW did she ever curse me..BTW I have a slight limp today...
Dang, man! Don't you know NUTTIN'!?
Don't tell her you're thinking about buying them; tell her you're thinking about building them. Then, after a suitable amount of time, tell her you researched & found that buying all the components amounted to almost as much as buying the finished products, so it made sense just to buy them already made. She'll likely give you a reward for being so thoughtful.

My main goal is to test my flock and my sister-in-law has a small flock. She helps me transfer birds and eggs so I owe her. My underlying reasons is corporating for eggs and to sell chicks for by ever going hatching addiction.

That requires more than just testing. You need to be inspected and meet certain requirements to get the NPIP number.

You're a genius!!!

I would never think of that, but then I am so honest and straight forward duplicity never enters my mind.

Do I get an award for keeping my mouth shut when my dispatcher who comes in at seven thirty and leaves at five tells me that he knows I don't like to start too early (usually start 5-5:30), but he needs me to be an hour and forty five minutes away by six in the morning. Especially, when I am still working and likely won't be off before six???????

very much so

This is not MomMoms bootcamp for no reason mind you..... muwahhahhhahhahaaaa

Someone very close by has a pair of bourbon reds at two years she says very nice birds and never had issues, they go in to get locked up at night and she has twins around two years old and they never showed any aggression to the little kiddos. I am scared to get adult anything because I like to know my animals and trust them because I raise from little on up, i dont want to mess up and get something mean. I guess they are cheap nuff I could just eatum if they bad turkey.

Reaching out for help. Post office did not call me soon enough when chicks arrived. I think they may have overheated as the day was hot here in Florida. Oh well. I gave all of them electrolytes and grow gel period I really worked with the lethargic ones but I lost one already period I have one that walks aound crying even though the breeder is warm at 92 to 95 degrees. He won't eat. And I'm about to lose another one it's just beyond saving it will not respond period I've even tried wet Kickstarter with it and everything. I'm usually very good with chicks and I have no losses but these guys were Zapped when I got them. Any help with the one that's crying and crying even though he's warm period and won't eat. I think he's savable if he'll eat. I take him over to the water and dip his beak and he can stand up and swallow it so
i think they are too warm, keep an eye out for pasty butt too
update for this morning?

you would laugh.
i bent down to see my silkies, and jessie decided to run full speed to hop into my lap. He slid on my jeans and rammed into my face, knocked me back, bloodied my lip, hit that sweet spot by my jaw that makes you see stars. I flew backwards, and he went flying off me and landed on his head.
I'm not sure which of us was more surprised.
lol, still glad you are ok
Sorry that is all the joke I could come up with. Been years since I seen the inside of a bar.

i think i need to work on my surprised face more
You ever feel like an oddball? I don't have many friends who get my "farm" life.... i feel weird, the big family, the farm life, the old fashioned lifestyle...

I have "casual friends" that I make playdates for, with the kids, but that's the extent of it. If we both didn't have kids, we wouldn't be friends, you know?

I miss my best friend back home. She was actually "my" friend. LOL
everyday
Good morning everybody

hi mel, hope all is going well out in MI, and hope you got mites taken care of
I have been accused of being "anti-feminist" because I try to meet my husband at the gate every day when he gets home from work to greet him so he knows i'm happy to see him.

`a
i wish it was warm enough here to do this, and that i was actuall yhome from work in time to do this lol
I commend you for that. Unfortunately I think part of what drove the feminist movement was the fact that men weren't doing their part to make the women of their lives feel valued and appreciated. Just my opinion and everybody has one.

LOL!!!

Just had our 49th anniversary on Tuesday. I've found what works best for me is to mention something, then shut the heck up and let him mull it over for a bit. Then, when he looks at me and says, "You know, I had an idea....why don't we <insert name of thing I suggested two weeks ago here>? I'll be we could do that." I just look right at him with adoration, bat my eyes, and say in my best southern accent, "Oh, honey....you're so clever!!"

Quote: How do you make Kahlua?

Quote: I couldn't live without fruits and vegetables! You really can't find any fresh plant food there?
I just bought green beans shipped up from Florida, red grapefruit from Texas, but most comes from Mexico or California this time of year.

GOOD MORNING, COFFEE CREW! IT'S FRIDAY!

Hello Mc!

Good morning all.
Hello ChickenCasnoe!

Quote: Banti! I'm surprised at you.

Quote: LOL, love poults.

I just picked up the S&G NN chicks from the post office. They had a rough ride - left Idaho on Tuesday, and arrived at the post office this morning. There was Grogel in the box, and they were snug for warmth, but one didn't make the trip, and a few look a bit rough (and I wonder if they will survive). Others look mostly ok, but all were chilled. I was in such a rush to get each one a sip of water and then into the warmth under the MHP, I didn't even count them (there were supposed to be 25, seemed about right). They are now quietly warming up, and the occasional strong one is popping out already for more water and some food. I also turned up the heat in the house they are in to help a bit.

Here they are warming up (with a few trolling around for feed):
