Must resist!

Good luck.

Don't want to add to my work load at this point. My daughter begged me this morning to please stop tonight on the way home and get more chicks! HAHA! The feed store down the road from us put up their "chicks are here" sign yesterday! Of course, I had a good reason for not getting any, since we have the road trip next week. And we are supposed to be hatching for the classroom in April.

Sorry for interrupting I just have a quick question. My silkie eggs are on day 7 and the veins are all around the air cell with what looks like a little gap with the babies moving around in there. Is that normal? My others didn't grow like that and I'm not sure if it's normal

I tried the pole aka broomstick method ya, and ripped that head right off ughh

If I only have two or three I do the old school chopping block with two nails in it and just bag the bird until its done doing its fluttering thing
just a simple off with their heads, no prep needed just grab hatchet and done

That's how my dad and I did it but he put 2 nails in a log in the barn we used as a step to get over a short wall. Then throw them in a burlap sack. I much prefer my homemade killing cone on the post of one of the compost piles.

@Sally Sunshine

@Pensmaster Do you think I can run those lights through a PVC pipe to the brooder in my coop? That would be much easier than trying to hang it somewhere along the wall to the brooder. Cincinnati Outlet is on the opposite wall.
I guess I missed it. What are you trying to accomplish?

No need to apologize. If there are veins and things moving, they are good. If it isn't normal, there's nothing you can do about it.
Just let them do their thing.
