A lot of orchard owners will also spray/mist trees, forming a protective coating of ice. Sounds backward, but it works.

Today is do everything chores. Prepare brooder, haul a pick up load of sawdust, clean 3 coops, go to the feed store, get eggs, water everyone, check fence, scaveng left over cob corn for 3 coops and beef, take time to look at every critter for health check, deliver eggs to neighbor lady. Have to haul a dog kennel home that will be converted to a green house.

Heat inside the house was fine, I rarely turn the heat up past 60*F anyway... Just the great outdoors that's a mite chilly

It is really a problem!
What tha commercial grower in your area will do?

Some lose their crops. It will be around 20F this Saturday night and I suspect their trees are as far along as mine are.

It is a good plan. I did it last spring but I was too late.

Living on the northern fringes of the inhabited North American continent as you do, I'd assume you have a backup heat source.

Mine's fine, long as the firewood holds out.

I've heard that's a fairly common occurrence in that area this time of year, global warming being what it is and all.

It still snows and freezes in places.
It is called global warming, not local warming.
