EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

In 1972 we bought the 3.257 acres we now live on. The land was nothing more than an old worn-out cornfield that we gave $10,000 for. That same $10,000 wouldn't buy enough of the same ground to set the house on today.

In 1995 a land locked 80 of swamp with about an acre of high ground sold for 12,000. It borders my parents land. Fresh out of high school I was going to buy it and my dad talked me out of it. It resold for 40,000 and sold again for 60,000. The last buyer purchase another 40 that wasn't for sale. Guess he paid way to much for it. Because it was part of an original family farm and I never thought the seller would part with it. There is a small cabin on the acre of high ground now and the 120 with cabin is valued at 150,000. Should of could of would of. I stopped in there a few years ago during gun deer season to introduce myself and be neighbourly. There were 5 guys out front. As I put the truck in park they all walked off before I got the door open. I boldly went to the cabin door and knocked no one answered. My dad has met the own since while bar tending and tells me the guys is a jerk.

The guineas will be three weeks old tomorrow.

Yes indeed location location location!
True, plus you guys also have limited space, a growing population, and nasty security expenses relating to your insane fanatical neighbors.

Can you imagine that the the distance between the northern point , Metulla to the southern point, Eilat, is less then ......500 km= 320 miles? So WE CAN'T drive 400 miles straight. ....?

12 Acres are 48 DUNAM! Where I live 1 Dunam=1/4 acres will cost 2,000,000 Shekels =more than 500,000$!

Dax this price in Israeli standard is A BONANZA! A 3 room flat in the center of the country will cost more than 1,200,000 Shekels almost 400,000$!

Insane!

Tell me about it! In the last decade the prices raised in more than 100%! I see the struggle that young couple are passing it is really insane! I think that if me and my DW would have to start again we couldn't do it! We bought this house 12 years ago, and now it is almost TRIPLE it's price!

We are loosing a lot of good young people that cant manage and relocate to Europe and the US

Your young people are fortunate to have this opportunity!
