Hi All! You have been busy the last 24 hours! Runt, I"m sorry about your Grandma. Benny, great videos. I love the trap - I"m going to look for it here in the states.

I have a question - my pile of silkies is sitting on a dozen eggs. When I just checked on them, we are down to 4. 3 decided to leave the pile. I found 2 eggs visible. They were partially on the eggs, but they weren't on them fully. Is that their way of kicking out eggs? These 2 egg were not as warm as my incubator eggs - it's 86 degrees today - so that might explain whey they weren't cold. I shoved them under one of the hens - she pecked at me while I did it.

When your broodies kick out eggs, how far do they kick them?

@Sally Sunshine , this OE marans is so super handsome.

nice big boy and babies with a nice hen should give you plenty of eggs too.

Ok so I've put myself into abit of a pickle! I have two incubators one for incubating and one as a hatcher. I currently have quail, silkies and runners in the incubator. My problem is the quail are hatching on the 17th and the silkies are going into lockdown on the 19th. So hopefully the quail either all hatch on the 17th so I can clean the hatcher for the silkies or I'm not sure what to do! Can I put the silkies in if the quail are hatching or? Help

depends on air cells too, if they have lost enough lock them down as well but I wouldnt go too high with humidity until you see first pips but thats hard with quail eggs

Quote: I see that, I think Sara was asking, she says she is getting me a roo, but its not that easy I sent out thirteen messages this morning and no one will sell me one. I refuse to purchase eggs, I would sooner get rid of them

Sally do you want me to see what I can find in Lima next weekend? My friend got some at Ohio nationals in Oct and I can see if she has the contact # or if they are showing.
