I do have to admit something.... I carry nails in my pockets. The coop falls apart often enough I got tired of running in to get nails and started carrying 'em around. Haven't found pocket duck tape yet or I'd carry that too.
Just wear your tool belt; hammer (for those nails you carry around loose), nails, & duct tape all at once. Maybe even a screw gun & some screws.

Yup, one look at Handyman Corner would tell you that.

Yeah, I went to sleep and woke up with new pitas bites (seriously, autocorrect? PITAS?!). Fire ant bites are very specific, and I'm really familiar with them (unfortunately).

(not my photo)
ouch, poor girl.
My kids play with fire ants all the time... so they routinely have those bites. I wish they'd stop messing with ant hills.

Look for duct tape in the hunting/camping sections. I had some, short roll and cardboard tube was flatten so it fit in your pocket. My coop coat has a leatherman, various screws, nails, 2 sizes of zip ties. The wire and hammer live in the coop.

Wherever I have extra screws I put them in the wood near the areas that require extra work and pieces of bailing wire is usually hanging on the coop just in case. :lau

:highfive:

Hammer stays in the coop, no problem there. I'd do that, but you get funny looks in the stores when you're walking around wearing it...

:thumbsup sweet!

No funnier than the looks I got one day when I walked into a convenience store on the outskirts of D.C. with a holstered blank pistol on my hip

We'd been field trialing all morning, where a blank pistol was one of our most important tools, & I never thought about it still being there.

:lau Did you get jumped? Or are the gun rules not that strong in D.C.?
