You don't collect rain water off the roof?
Need rocks to make concrete.
My lawn's nothing but orchard grass & whatever else was growing here when we bought it.

Not enough containers in all of Texas to supply that lawn with the water it needs. I have 7, 80 gallon containers collected for veggies if needed.

Peter- I'm guessing kids aren't allowed to roam in the woods down there?

Never encountered a rattler, but had a Copperhead strike one time in KY. Came real close to getting a 3 yr. old cousin.

The grandkids is why I'm removing them. That would have been too close. Any areas they play in are gravel or well mowed/scraped.

Correct and never on the granite rocks. And never alone. New fancy neighbors were letting their twin 4 year old daughters play all over the newly destroyed acre. Whenever new homes go up snakes always come to my yard. Just something I have to watch

I learned that in driving school that for a truck driver there are only two seasons, winter and construction.
PS that looks like where I grew up

That's one reason I mow whatever grows naturally here, rather than spending good money on seed that may or may not germinate. The native grass has evolved to handle the temperature swings in this part of the country, w/o additional watering, and stays green, for the most part, all year.

Yes but my wife is still part city girl. I must say the rocks were her idea after 17 years of fighting the native grass/weeds.
