It was sad to see all the brown blossoms today. I think some of the peach buds that hadn't opened yet may have survived but I'm sure the nectarines are shot and half the plums are gone.Pretty rough![]()
I thought some survived the same turn of events last year but didn't produce one piece of fruit. Just the native persimmons and mulberries produced.
@ChickenCanoe Have you seen the Ozark Societies memorial float in May? It sounds like something you would enjoy.
I'm not familiar. I tend to avoid crowds on the river. Floating in winter and weekdays helps with that.
When I was young I would go on big floats with friends - 10/20 boats or so. Now that I'm old, I like to float by myself or float/fish with just my son.
When there are lots of people on the river on holiday weekends, rather than float, I sit by a treacherous bend in the river with root wads and get a kick out of all the accidents and the guys blaming the girls for causing the problem.
