EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I accidentally gave her one of my purebred girls. So, she named it Abi. Abi is pretty shy, and was staying in the run alone when the others from me were allowed out today.
After a few hours, the original flock was allowed out to free range too. Immediately, the nasty rooster went over to mate with Abi. She immediately squatted for him.

I always did like the bad boys! And I'm usually alone too!

bad boys don't have a nesting instinct

The best possible use of a bad rooster...Other than shipping to Iceland's free the rooster program. They need more wild roosters up there...:lau

I'm pretty sure my neighbour could singlehandedly supply said program; we don't need any more, thanks!! :smack

Do you guys think it's ok that I haven't seen my pipped egg move today? Actually I never have, except for candling. It pipped (small "c" shaped crack) sometime during the night. Hasn't changed at all.. probably 10 hrs at least...

do you think it has long to go with those veins? It's worrying me as it keeps wiggling and nearly breaking through the membrane

One question.
Why are you holding an egg that is hatching unless you live in a tropical rainforest with 98F and 70% humidity?

I take it back! It is wiggling right now! Yayay!! Go chickie go!!
