Hey guys! I've been around but never able to talk! I'm coming up on the last three days of classes now so I'll be more active!

Also EXCITING NEWS! As of this Saturday I will be seven weeks pregnant! We have our first doctor's visit for my blood test and to schedule an ultrasound next Friday. I've admittedly not been resting easy, I probably won't be able to until I hear the baby's heartbeat on the ultrasound.

I got them from Meyer and they don't have leghorn eggs for sale, so I'm going off the eggs they do sell. Though, I won't complain if it does turn out to be a leghorn.

As for the Brahmas, when I showed the eggs to Blu after he got home the first words out his mouth were 'I hope there's a Brahma in there', so it's safe to say I could get away with it.

I have to be very honest, I just peaked from the top and seen a few veins in almost all I looked at, I truly dont want to mess with them, they are a wreck, its not worth the candle if it dont stink in there lol Plus remember my gooserz eggs are in there and they also are horible and they are costly and I really want to hatch another one very very badly so I want to get this right.

There is kind of an egg smell in my incubator... I wouldn't call it a rotten smell, but "eggy." Are they supposed to smell? All the eggs wiggled in water but one, but it floated just the same. Welsummer eggs are too dark to candle.. plus they are far along... do I need to do something? I have one pipped in there right now.

eggy smell is ok, you will know the rotten smell if it comes

and you are NOT supposed to water test unless they are at least 2 days overdue

FWI to any next time they pick up that steak at the grocery store. I condense whey from 4% solids to 15% through a RO (reverse osmosis) system then to 40% solids through a ginormous evaporation system (high speed still lol) and load IDK, half million lbs+ - a week on trailers. Easiest job ever actually.
It used to go to a pharmaceutical plant that condensed it further to powder and I heard took something out of it for coatings on pills and the milk sugar IDK for sure. Driver that hauled it there once told me a load from someone else showed up and stank..what's that, spleens blood etc anything not saleable from a meat packing plant..what do you do with it..dehydrate it into powder, it's the meat protein in the soups you buy...
They closed a couple yrs ago.
Now it goes out to a place for 'animal' feed. After awhile I happened to ask the driver animal feed? What kind of animals, figuring dog or cat food maybe, guess whey is high in protein.
Imagine anything and everything in a grocery store, out of date, expired, tractor trailers of bread donuts pasta Mac and cheese with cheese packets dry soup mix Twinkies he's seen all the cardboard and plastic buckets even swirling around in their mixer supposedly they filter the junk out, candy even, saw seven tractor trailer loads of Skittles delivered recently. Said they chop and mix it up and add your whey and spread it out on a huge floor that dries it out then they bust it up and load it on trailers and send it out to the feed lots.
What feed lots?
Beef feed lots out west.

There is a rodent in my living room. It's too early to be freaked out. I forget she is there, and then I hear a rodent scurrying around. I will eventually remember that I again own a hamster. Last night the dog was snug in the recliner, and suddenly bolted towards me. He then turned and woofed at the offending creature that dared to get too close.

Nope. The way it works is that because I have citizenship (being born an American with a naturalized mother and a citizen father), my baby automatically gains dual citizenship to the US and Belgium. All I have to do is inform the US government of the birth and they will give us a social security number and I can apply for a passport.

If I give a dozen eggs to a friend or family member, for some reason they start saving all their egg cartons for me, and some have other people save them, too.

This happens to me now also. Including my daughter's teachers at school. They know I do the classroom hatch and so they have all started sending egg cartons. Problem is, they usually end up in the bottom of my daughter's backpack and by the time I get them they are all squished up.
