I think we need to take away his TV privileges too, and send him to bed without supper...Where's a finger wagging emote when you need it?![]()
We're trying to catch a swarm this year too but not too aggressively. We have our hives set up and baited with lemongrass oil. Haven't seen any action yet though. Good luck on yours! It got up to 83 today. Would have been great weather to work on my top bar hive and swarm box today, but no, I thought it was going to rain.I'm months behind on this project for one reason or another and I have the feeling I'll be putting the hive away until next year at this rate. I want bees already! In other news, I did a quick candle and it looks like my shipped eggs aren't a bust this time! I've only ever had luck hatching shipped quail eggs, but it looks like I managed to do everything right this time. Plus, the air cells weren't in too bad a shape when the eggs arrived/ didn't get stuck in a mail truck till they were delivered. One of them may be clear, but it's way too soon to tell. ETA: I completely forgot about the HRIR I hatched several years back.
I love how she's right up in the camera lolI want you to all meet "bubbles" Can anyone here figure out why I named her that?
Quote: This was supposed to be my first year with bees but it's not looking too good. Plenty of bees hanging around from the hives down the road and they keep scouting my back porch. I got all my equipment, just haven't had help and a friend borrowed some of my tools a while back that I got back yesterday. Here's hoping I get my hive and box done and you catch a swarm!
lol.I'm not a big fan of ducks but![]()
