EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Gotta do what I gotta do. I do it or it don't get done.
Back when I used to live in more populated areas, I had a neighbour that absolutely loved to mow... There could be just the barest hint of green, and sometimes temps weren't even above freezing that day, and he'd be out there, shirtless, mowing the muddy lawn. If there was no grass, he did other things involving the lawn tractor.

Word on the street says nobody will have Kmart or Sears much longer.

I've figured that for the last yr, know people that work there. Sears already sold the exclusive rights to the Craftsman brand and have Diehard and Kenmore for sale also. The main head honcho of the company has spent over a hundred million$$ in the last few yrs of his own personal money just to keep them goin and they haven't been out of the red in like eight yrs.
Sad to see them go but I don't see how they can keep going.
They'll be just a memory like Jamesway and Ames soon.

We had a horrible thunderstorm last night, I had to send my husband out at like 4am in the morning to rescue the two new baby goats. Mom just left them in a mud puddle, and I was worried she'd do that. So we brought them inside for the night until the rain stopped. They are happy with mom again.

The sebastapol geese and 4 ducklings.

Hubby's not going to butcher our drakes. He doesn't want to bother with them, so he suggested just shooting them :/

My broody in a dog kennel. She finally made herself a nest in the back.
Glad you got the kids in.

For ducklings, goslings, and broody hen!

Quote: Glad to hear you're alive. I'm wonderful, rain stopped and it warmed up again.

Quote: No problem, I went out to work, too. Nice plantings.

Day 11 now for my cockatiel egg

Sounds like they are well fed.

Looks nice!

So it begins for another season; just climbed off the mower. 'Bout 2 weeks ahead of normal.
A neighbor was out cutting hers the other day, I should be soon.

Thanks, MC! You always make my day! :hugs The world would be lost without you! Come live with me in Texas! I'll pay you to play with the cats, and to feed and water the animals each day!

Awe!! :hugs That is so sweet of you! I'll think about it! :D
Saw that. Such a bummer.... I don't buy appliances from anywhere else...

I stopped. Bad customer service, the appliances aren't made like they used to be, and I tried for all Craftsman in my toolbox, but I don't think a hammer should have visible glue around its head! Too many cheap looking tools.

I was mad as a hornet when Ames took over Jamesway in Rockaway, N.J.! But when Ames was taken over in Pennsylvania, a motorcycle shop went in. I didn't mind that.

They used to be a lot better; that's for sure.

The old Craftsman tools were The Best, and well worth every penny they cost....

If I felt any better I couldn't stand it!

Been fundraising like my life depends on it; visited 50+ businesses, got $2450 and 9 items for silent auction, 11 call back in the next two days. About a fifth of the way to my goal.

Two weeks ago I asked the other 9 people on the fundraising committee to visit 15 places and get $1k each which should be easy. But none of them have. Anyway, my body is basically coffee, cokes, and cheeseburgers at this point.

Shirts are designed and I'll turn those in this week. Fundraiser is April 22nd, then CIT weekend, then staff come in May 15th and we get started.

She's doing better with them today. We had another thunderstorm and she cuddled them and paid more attention. I guess "losing them" last night for a few hours, had her more nervous about leaving them in a puddle today.
