Hello! Yes, I haven't been here in a while. I did not hatch this spring; I ordered chicks for my broody instead. She took them with no problem & they are 4 weeks old now. They are LF orpingtons, here's a few pics:

As usual they seem to be mostly boys. I think I only have 3 girls out of 10. I'd love to keep one of the cockerels and maybe hatch out some of my own eggs, which I have never done, but it's difficult since we travel a lot in the summer. Roosters are not allowed at our house, so when we want to keep one for a while we usually put him in the garage at night to stop him from crowing, but since we won't be around much we wouldn't be able to do that. Wish I could board him somewhere for the summer!

Hope everyone is doing well & I'll have to come back & check in more often. :-)

ugh do you realize I will be 50 in less than 4 months!!! OMG where does time go!!!!!

Me too!!!!! I don't feel this old.....
We have to pay 5% off ouer sallery, but we get THE LOUSYEST medical care. When I say lousy I mean tgat the government have a notion that called " the health basket" it is their annual budget for medical treatments and medicin, and every year they publishe the list, so if you have a major disease that have a treatment, but it isn't in the list you have to sell your home to pay it or shout yourself! So to get a proppr coverage we have to do APRIVET supplemental insurance to be 100% covered.
I work for a large insurance company. You think it would be cheaper, but it isn't.

I cover just my daughter and myself. I have a Health Savings Account. So, the company puts money in at the beginning, I have to pay 100% of the claims - the charges go against that bank first, then I pay out of pocket for a few thousand dollars, then it switches to 80/20..And then it's like normal insurance. I pay just 20% of the negotiated claim. Last year, best I could get was a 70/30 split. But this year they offered the 80/20 for a little more money per paycheck. I pay about $180 every 2 weeks. Straight insurance plan would have cost a LOT more.

For my latest hatch....I ended up with 2 silver and 2 black Americaunas. The 3rd silver I had to cull. For the eggs I was hatching for gotro17, all 5 locked down, hatched.

Hers are the 3 big yellows and the 2 brown ones in the front. Mine are the 4 being sat upon.
