Seriously, look at those ears!!! I know, I know, I can't eat them, because my faith, but even if I could I cant find any thing appalling in that animal. Certainly appalling; not appEaling! Thanks, I now know the difference

You'll be an old man before you figure out all the intricacies of our language. I certainly know I am! I'll be satisfied to know the intricacies of MY language.
You've come a lot further with mine than I ever would with yours.

I'll pick stuff up tomorrow to improve it. Currently they are in a huge rubber water tank and making a mess.

Mom and dad also bought me 6 chicks that are "from the Easter bunny"

♀️ That dang bunny! So I need to pick up a bigger brooder for them tomorrow too. Mom stole the one I had last year because it had wheels

NICE!!

My refrigerbator got some new additions. I don't think it's ever looked this good!

Good Luck Joey!

Today is day 18 for my eggs. Have not candled them as I usually do, due to family crisis ongoing. Sincerely hoping for a decent hatch, as I could really use some cuteness in the form of brand new fluff butts...
I will candle them tonight when it's dark out and lock em down!
ohhh I wish you luck and sorry about the family, hope all works out fine!

I have been thermometer/hydrometer shopping. I plan to buy a few. I have a second incubator to fire up and going to use a big old redwood incubator for a hatcher. I have 2 wood box brooders I love. One is 2 foot square and the other is 4 foot square. Thinking about adding a temp wafer to the little one to maintain a more even temp. I would like to add a second thermometer to those as well. I have a couple of favorites already. I like using aquarium thermometers because they seem accurate, but are small and hard to read. I also need a couple with probes. So my question is what is your favorite? I read lots of treads on them and it seems to be a topic with too much information out there. I am really interested in what works best for each of you.
in the notes section is the brands we use, look under temps and humidity should have a link to suggestions for them

I have a bummer of a question to ask on a Saturday night. I candled day 14 and I had one egg of 16 that looks very different. It's a white bantam polish egg and there is no veining in it. It is also the only one where I can see no movement. All I can say is that I look at it and it seems different. If I shine the light on the blunt end, I see no veins and just a big dark mass near the top. BUT, if I turn it over and candle the other end the contents seem to float to the other end. This one has to be a loss, right? Quarters are so close in my little Brinsea that I really feel like I should remove it this close to hatching. I'm sorry to be so nervous, but I'm just worried silly over my first hatch. Lockdown is Monday and I've got all these others with crazy air cells and everything seems bleak.
Hang in there, if they dont stink keep on going..... I wish you the best!!

Put my eggs in lick down tonight. Out of 18, only 3 that I pulled. 2 clear, one that looks to have quit pretty early.

Hoping to have a good hatch. These eggs had a ROUGH ride this time from TN to WA... keeping my fingers crossed!
GOOD LUCK!!!
