Lol! So cute!

Reminds me of the first time I stopped with a buddy (just out of high school, '95?) many moons ago at his girlfriends parents house....
They lived in a small single wide trailer, winter, they had baby goats inside, and a living room wall full of snakes, little ones and huge ones, and a baby alligator in a tub under their kitchen table...
ep.gif

Stopped there that summer also, the stench of the snakes in a 100 degree no air-conditioning small trailer....
They were building a house at the time, and ended up with the cellar being the snake room, and had one heck of a game farm, all sorts of animals, looked like a nice set up online never visited cause he ended having heart probs and sold everything, https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...d.com/&usg=AFQjCNFqmyvzMOjBRJCEu0k7bwWNDrYohQ
heard that place that has April the Giraffe, Animal Adventure, who is giving birth someday.....maybe..... bought a lot of his animals.
She's supposed to have that baby giraffe any day now....Lol!

We're going to visit if and when it happens.

Does it take a decade to grow back or will it keep growing new ones for a decade?

Pretty sure they take forever to grow, many yrs.
Saw no growth where I took one last yr.
Almost as good and more available in other states is reishi, I've found them also but been too late now that I look for them. Chaga grows for many years reishi is more like regular mushrooms and seasonal, I just haven't looked early enough, fall early deer season and the bugs/worms have already started to set in. Maybe this year I'll remember to look earlier. Supposed to have chicken of the woods and miatake hen of the woods here also, have to get my butt scouting. Just chance upon morels cause of the start of trout season here and out and about.

Cockatiel egg don't look good

I'm shocked.
I thought today was hatch day. Isn't it day 18?

Yeah, but cold you can dress up to ward off so you don't actually have to avoid outside all that much.... For heat, there's only so much you can remove before it becomes illegal.

My sentiments exactly.

What are nighttime lows down in Hades on earth? Bet it doesn't even go below 60....

When it gets really hot here, 100-110F, it usually doesn't get below the 80s at night. No time to recover.

Chanticler handle everything.

They are a perfect bird for everywhere.

Not for sustained highs of 105-110F, sweetheart...

Unwise to try and raise Chanteclers in those conditions.
The bird that I've found most capable of handling extreme cold and extreme heat like we get is the Jaerhon.
In recent years, it has ranged from -19F to 111F.

We don't get no breezes... :th

Brutal. Seems like when the heat and humidity are the worst here, the wind stops.

I find it hard to wrap my head around the idea wearing long sleeves is comfortable in summer...

When I worked in a factory, it could get up into the 120s. Most people wore short sleeved coveralls. I always wore long sleeves. There's nothing worse than sweating and getting oily dirt and weld slag all over your arms.

DYK the lowest point of Canada is lower than the highest point of California?

Barely.
Is that Pelee island?
I went to Windsor when I used to go to Detroit for training. Wild town.

DYK that the human head weighs 8 pounds?

Depends on who's head you're weighing.

In San Diego it is pretty much 72 and sunny YEAR ROUND (see movie "Anchorman" for proof). But it is CALIFORNIA....

For all the people that love to see people that use intelligence when they work. See this guy, he uses physics and experience to overcome the problem that he has no help! Nice job!
Benny, thanks for posting this - it's brilliant! I have to do stuff like this by myself all the time, so very helpful.

Quote: Thanks - I had a mini migraine today - mild enough that I went in to work anyway to go to a couple "must go" meetings, but when I came home (early), I crashed for several hours. I make a list of things I am grateful for every day. Today on the list was being alert enough to drive home safely, and being thankful that I scrubbed out all the waterers and filled the feeders yesterday, so that the only thing I had to do today was collect eggs.

Guess what I got! Brinsea 56 advanced WHOOT WHOOT!!!! THANK YOU EVERYONE, I had to put in a pretty penny to get this sucker, My Dad helped with early 50th Bday CASH..... I tossed it around for some time, I really didnt want any of their chickens

It's not nearly so got where I live! We usually have breezes, too. Just grow your gills in advance to learn how to breathe our humidity.

OE cochins (yellow) and CCLxEE

Most of the quitters were blue eggs that didn't lose enough weight.

Yeah, it's drier here - does make it a lot easier sometimes. (There are down sides to that as well, of course...). Those isabels are so lovely!!!!

Some pretty pictures before I head to bed - my Alohas:

Photo bomb of the chicks - they're getting big and are fully feathered in. (They are inside still because I'm building their new growout pens). I'll split into a few posts. Sorry, they squirmed, and there were a lot of them to weigh... (And some sot of slumped - they don't like being weighed.)

LOTTA boys...

lol and I hate sleeping in anything above 70  I like a cool bedroom, I dont think I could make it unless I sleep in a pool! Guess I should stay north eh?

hope they hatch!

:frow
One of the last DC I had marked with a question mark at lock down. It's trying to hatch upside down and looks bloody. Not helping this bunch especially this one it was a larger egg to start than the rest. If it were one of mine I would not have incubated it. But beings it was shipped and so few I put it in. It's almost half way through pipping and would have started sometime in the night.

Edited to say that the last 2 DC have hatched. The large questionable eggs chick is a mess though. What looks like yolk but could be poo on it. Still upside down in half of its shell. So it's out just not about yet.

Double yolker maybe with only one developed chick?
