Day 18 and I'm locked down. I only had to toss 3 at day 7 and I haven't had to toss out any more. No saddle-shaped air cells, which is blowing me away. Aside from a power outage, this hatch has gone incredibly well. I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Some pretty pictures before I head to bed - my Alohas:

Photo bomb of the chicks - they're getting big and are fully feathered in. (They are inside still because I'm building their new growout pens). I'll split into a few posts. Sorry, they squirmed, and there were a lot of them to weigh... (And some sot of slumped - they don't like being weighed.)

LOTTA boys...

Thank you for the coffee, Abi!

...

I had a schedule change and have to wait until Thursday to candle the classroom eggs now.

I bought chicken feed yesterday and forgot it was still in the back of the car until it was time to leave for work today. Thought I would grab the bags real quick and take them to the bin I keep them in. Went over and took the lid off of the bin, set it down and proceeded to walk to the car to grab the first bag of feed. That is when I felt IT. Something inside my shirt! I dropped the bag of feed, pulled my shirt away from myself and discovered a HUGE GINORMOUS FLYING COCKROACH inside my shirt! I have never stripped so fast of my clothing (outside even)! Now I feel like I have creepy crawlies all over me and have hives on my stomach area (I'm allergic to cockroaches). Moral of this story is: don't leave the chicken feed in the car overnight. And thank goodness, I live in the middle of nowhere and no one saw me throwing clothes off outside this morning!
lol do you know I did that on the country club golf course, I was weeding some pachysandra on a slope off the front of a T and was bent over as my feet hit a bees nest in the ground, I dont know how many got up my shirt but it came flying off fast. And yes their were golfers. I had eight stings and two on my face, I was n just a bit of pain.
OH and Ms. Mary's homemade cherry cheesecake for dessert! After I eat smoked lamb and crawfish and grandmas bread.
cheesecake!!!
