Quote: Soda cans are like hens' teeth around here, but the plastic bottle will work; the one I saw on youtube was made with a plastic bottle. I set 2 of them last night; one in the basement & one behind the coop. No takers in either one overnight, but someone once said, "If you build it, they will come".
I noticed a strange name (I didn't recognize it, anyway) posting last night from Northern WI. Maybe a "neighbor"?
The hoof needs to be cut level, the heel will need to be taken down over time, trim to pink and stop, keep doing this over time until it is even.@mlm Mike @daxigait and who else has kept goats forever?
I had the farrier out to look at Beaux's hooves and try to shape them up for me. He worked on it a but but said he's never seen anything quite like it. He said Beaux is walking on the balls (?) of his hooves and stands like a horse does when it has foundered. His back hooves are the worst. I took more pics today, hoping we can get some suggestions? He said he's going to do some research, and that he'll try anything that is suggested. He didn't charge me for the trim.
Both back hooves.

Quote: Not surprisingly, that's what's known as Rotational Grazing, Benny. It was instituted many, many moons ago, in, I believe, New Zealand, for sheep. Works great for grazing animals; not so much for browsers. I tried it several years ago for goats; gave it up.
Thank You and

So it is! I noticed it a couple days ago, but I don't know how to do parades.
