That's a really difficult question for anyone to answer who is not there and can not see the egg.

How did it go?

I broke of shell in a circle without taking membrane and she quickly pushed out. It's an Ancona and is doing fine!

Very very seldom use live bait; not for many years. Artificials don't have to be kept alive, replaced after every catch, or bought fresh on the way to the water.
