EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

If you think that's flat & straight, you should visit central Illinois; just like that, minus the trees. A lot (if not most) of the roads there are laid out in sections; a section being a square parcel of a mile on each side. Being in the middle of the "corn belt", there was nothing in sight for miles in some cases except corn, soybeans, cattle pastures, or an occasional hog farm. This was back in the 50's, when we'd go out to visit my grandparents.

I've heard the tales, it's just fun teasing Kaj.

:lau

I wish I was further south.

Guess you won't be taking your adorable goats and coming to live here then, eh?

Best stuff I've found yet! Tried conventional snap traps, with & without peanut butter, tried the 5-gal bucket traps, & tried the brown pellets. Caught a single mouse with the snap trap w/peanut butter, nothing with either of the bucket traps, limited success with the pellets (although there are fresh mouse droppings in & around them). One of the bucket traps is behind the chicken run, where rats are digging in under the wire apron & into the run to steal food in broad daylight.

I used this stuff 20 years ago, & for some reason got away from it. A few days ago I broke off a chunk of it & put it in a bucket I'd laid on its side for weather protection. No customers for the first few days. Checked it this morning & the bait was missing. Whatever took it (assuming rat) carried it out & consumed it on a nearby stack of lumber. Might have been a coon, but that's alright, too.
