Can't agree with you. Neck braces are not called for in "simple drowning". The jerking could be a good thing, the water could be worked out of airway. Shows he still has some motor activity...

Ask some of the pure medical people, I can only answer from a first responder point of view.

i'm with you more than likely he didnt fall and hit his head and have spinal injuries, more than likely he just went under and didnt come back up
my dad is a teacher for first responders and he used to make me go to all his classes, and my brother is a wilderness/water rescue person
