EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Hey guys, had 10 chicken chicks hatch out of my incubator about a week ago. Turkey eggs were set at the same time.

H incubator is a little stinky from doo doo and such. When I candled the eggs the other night, I cleaned the moisture tray and the plastic liner as best as I could quickly.

Will the stinkyness be a problem for the hatching turkeys? They are due to hatch tomorrow. Should I add some tea tree oil to the moisture trays to help disinfect?

If they are to hatch tomorrow, Why are you just doing this stuff now?

The lid should closed, moisture high, to prevent heat shrink wrapping today and yesterday...

You should have had the chicks out of it 3-4 days ago.

Meant to be said in a nice way, if it did not sound it..

So, I did day 21 candle on the ducks. Well, there's six still alive, and that's all the good I can say about them.

The CAMs are HORRIBLE. Just horrible. They only cover half the egg in 5/6 of the eggs. There is no way they can develop any more... The tops of the eggs look full like eggs at lockdown but they're still a week away from hatch. Only one egg has a complete enough CAM to have any hope for it at all.

Also, they have weird clotty things in the bottom part of the CAM, which I have not seen nor read about before. Any ideas, s'il te plaît?

Haha! Sorry, I did do that several days ago. And things have escalated quickly! All of a sudden, we have two turkeys out, within 2 hours. So apparently it's okay. Humidity is nice and high too. They pipped an zipped sooo quickly!
