EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

:frow How are you feeling? Was your weekend productive? I put out the last thousand feet of fence. I started clipping and tying(lots of backside of posts). I have 500' of 2100' of fence left to finish attaching and the entire perimeter of my twelve acres will be done. My goats are going to love getting at all the pasture they have not had access to yet (8-9 acres that was only fenced for cows/horses).

My weekend was productive - I culled 15 cockerels, and also made and canned 12 quarts of stock (as well as baking bread and making BBQ chicken wings). Still more to do, of course. Always more to do...

Congrats on the progress on your fencing - that will be so excellent when you get it done!!!! :clap

i have a story about the death star :rolleyes:

Yeh, and what about pictures of the possible puppy babies that someone has?:cool:

(I haven't been able to get good pics of Muffin yet - I got a selfie where she was snuggling me when I was holding her, and nuzzling against my shoulder, but it came out all blurry and dark.)

@kajira :hugs

We just had a huge storm go through (Kajira, hope you were home safely before the storm.) Power flickered here at work (which is saying something, since it's a huge university), so I'm heading home a little early to check on the chickens and the appliances. Of course, I didn't bring an umbrella with me today. :he

Well, yup, hard hard rain here. Lots and lots and lots of rain. We needed rain. Too bad it has to come down all at once like an overturned bucket. :he

Puppy was bedraggled and wanted to be picked up and held. I hugged and snuggled her and carried her around while checking on everyone, then put her inside her coop (where everyone else was totally dry, BTW).:rolleyes:

Earl was NOT pleased about the heavy rain. (This is his "We are not amused" face. Well, ok, so that's what he looks like all the time - reminds me of an old physics teacher.)

That made my day! :lau

I'm okay. I went to buy chicks today, but they said I had to get six. I thought that store did three minimum. So tonight I'm candling my broody's eggs, and pitching all but four to six. I'll give some to the other broody, and move both of them.
I wanted chicks so I could get the one to stop stealing all of the eggs. But not six!!!
Did you see that the turkey got her duckling?

Awwwww, that duckling and the turkey are adorable.
