One time when I was still in the Air Force so figure about 30 years ago (Dang I'm getting old)......i shot a skunk with a bow in my garage..... big mistake....

Had a dog once that loved to tie into skunks. Wouldn't get too close but wouldn't back off either. On night she had one could tell by her excitement. Grabbed the gun and went out. She came when I called her off so I shot the thing got it right in the squirter as you said big mistake. I thought I was going back to bed not, the whole house stunk of skunk had to get back up and bury the thing. x 2
Raccoon in trap this morning. The trap has been busy the past two days. Nothing for months and now working over time. Reset already.
At this rate I won't be culling anything.

I just get them from the feed store (Yay feed store ) But yea, those are the ones, AND THEY STINK! (Literally, fowl smeeling, pun intended)

And a good foul pun it was.
I raised them before. Probably won't again they are too needy.

A friend I used to work with had a skunk problem under her house one time. She was a single mom at the time and the skunks sprayed under her house to the point it was uninhabitable. They come and stayed at my house while her nephew set traps. The idiot set a claw foot trap under the house in the crawl space with only about a three foot or so chain sticking out of the hole. Pity the poor guy we sent over there to check the traps and shoot the skunks. . . . I don't think he ever forgive us for that!

This one is "Cuddles" despite the winter damage to his comb, he will be sticking around for another year on the show circuit...

Here he is standing on my knee, taking credit for the treats I gave him and his gals, while he watches the field for danger.

He does not know it but he is headed to his first bath of the year soon... He is not a fan of baths. You would think he was from the VWN.
