I didn't dock tails when I had pigs. It was required at the hog facility I worked at at.

I actually get a kick out of going for blood work and needles. I like to watch them insert the needle. I've learned to ask first now if they mind. I think it makes them nervous.

No on needles, don't like trips to the dentist either, my blood pressure shoots up at the dentist.

Hey everyone! What have you all been up to? My incubators have been off for at least 6 weeks now and I finally just moved the rest of the brooder babies out to the main coop. I've got some chicken subtraction to do in a few months :/
The meaties get butchered next week (37 of them). Thankfully, we're borrowing a plucker from some friends.
I have an order of poults from Porter's turkeys coming very soon and it looks like I'm getting a couple Shamo chickens in about a month to cross with my CX lol. THAT will be interesting!

Sorry Ive been MIA my friends My health is not good. All kinds of problems with workmans comp and my hand. Horrible side effects from the meds but taking them because nothing else helps the horrible pain. Very depressed. Hoping I can make a local bird show this weekend-the birds are my saving grace and they deserve to be shown off Please let me know if I missed anything important and forgive & ignore any typing errors as its so hard to do. Miss you all Mel

Got my 4wheeler back in operation.....busted wire in the harness under a front fender. They said it was corroded, so my guess is it was mostly gone & barely holding on, & rough terrain finally finished the job. It was the wire supplying power to the switch, so I was on the right track in suspecting the switch. They had the whole front end off; showed me pictures. $183.75 later....

Glad it's working again.

I'm supposed to cull some roosters today but this spot on my arm that they burned off is not liking life right now. I've definitely had them feel better than this one before. Maybe once I've got a start it will settle down.

I hope your arm is feeling better today.
