Humidity only 42% here. By this afternoon it will be around 10%. Way too dry.

I hope ours drops down to at least 50% soon.

Your approach makes a lot of sense. I've actually heard of parents who let their kids touch a hot stove to "teach" them. Don't know if those stories are true; rather barbaric.

Yeah. Not something I'd do. She got too close to the metal ring. I realized then I should have used the pit where there is no metal to burn herself on. At least now she has been warned about metal getting hot.

I won't dispute that! I'm not as good looking in person as I am in photos I post (yes, I know I'm still a fright in pictures). And you are better looking in person.

Only a hotdog. She forgot about marshmallows after having to run inside to potty.
I am insanely afraid of worms, but I want to sleep out in the tent with her this month. I just hope that the worms stay away from us!
I have a firepit behind the garage I can put a skillet over for cooking eggs.

On one of our semi-recent trips to WI, the DIL & I went to Menards & bought all the mat'l for a fire pit, complete with screen cover, & constructed it that night,
We don't have a Menards around here, so when we got home I tried t get the mat'l from Lowes. They had some of it, not all, & the price was way out of sight. I'll have to drive the truck out again, & buy everything from Menards. I really like their stores.

Menard's stores save me a ton every year over Home Depot or Lowes...

And their selection, while it may not be top quality, is large and serves me well enough.

There isn't one close too me here, we do have really nice locally owned stores here though. There is a Menards fairly close to my lake cottage, that's the one I've been to, maybe three times.

WOW, how lucky... The closest store to my cabin is 45 miles or more.

I won't dispute that! I'm not as good looking in person as I am in photos I post (yes, I know I'm still a fright in pictures). And you are better looking in person.

I take a terrible picture, but I appreciate the compliment. I've never liked any of them, and 50 years of smoking didn't improve anything. I really don't like my picture taken.

I disagree with you, though (what a shock, huh?); you're anything but a fright either way
