EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I have a broody working away. This is the one that started with no eggs. She now has at least 16. Rest of flock has been blocked from pen. The two that are left out are from the dozen I want her to set. Hoping they under her when I go out this morning.

Yes, Canadian Geese are bad here too. I've heard of golf courses getting Border Collies to chase them away.
I think that's what this guy uses...Border Collies. If the flock is on the ground, the dog will put them up. If they're on the water, he sics his remote controlled motorboat on them. They stay away for a while, but eventually find their way back....job security at its finest.

I warned you!!!

On the last one Please use your imagination to be appalled.

It is really hard to find broken dux eggs on google..for some reason they think all eggs should be brown or white..

There was even one showing a newly hatched dux with a egg broken neatly in half behind it...The egg was light brown..
(city people!!!arrrrgh!)

Just looks like breakfast to moi.

You better keep an eye on that black beast....
I see that lip curling!

Oh Bubbles...are these your babies?
They are precious.
Not mine, they belong to a friend. She raises them for re-sale. I'm getting my kids from her next year.

Man it's downright cold out this morning. 70* with a wind chill brings it down to at least -10*. No AC needed this morning.

Out at the lake, there is a couple that tries to keep geese away, even though it is a waterfowl lake. Last year they had a couple of floating swans, they got mad when someone decorated them. This year they have some wolf or coyote thing on shore. Not certain how well that is working.

Probably as well as the plastic owls to keep the pigeons away. Once they figure them out they'll actually sit in the shade they provide. Oh and sit on them.
