Dinner is the main/large meal of the day. If that is eaten around noon then that is dinner. , then the lighter evening meal is supper. If dinner is eaten in the evening then the noonish meal is lunch.

I cringed at the hibachi grill recently when the dude used the same knife to cut up raw chicken. Then used it to cut my steak. But it was before they cooked it So I took the chance and eat it anyway. I didn't die I guess.
