You have so many faults that they seem normal to you.

I just cracked the oldest brown one & it wasn't fertile. Maybe some of the newer ones will be though; I'll cross my fingers and hope something develops!

I have a hard time sacrificing an egg...I usually just throw them in.

I only had the rooster for 9 days so it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't get to all the ladies. He was for sure mating with the EE hen though. I am hoping for jubilee orpington chicks but we'll see what happens. I wanted to keep the rooster longer but I couldn't deal with the crowing at 5 A.M., haha!

Sometimes the roosters can surprise a person. I had a rooster get out and I was following him. Before I could get him he got 5 hens and the eggs were fertile. I didn't want hatching eggs right then and not ones by him....lol. Too quick for words!
