Good on you and your friends as well! You're much closer that to the millennial age than I am. I like to think there are a lot of good people, younger people. I think just like most generations...the nicest people are quite often the quietest.Don't know if you'd consider me part of that "young generation" (born in '92 here) but I can agree with both statements. There's a large group of people that would fall under "millennial" status who certainly act the way Benni describes. However, like Wickedchicken mentions people like my friends and I were raised to be respectful to our elders and aren't afraid of a hard day's work or having families. Most of us are married or in a long-term relationship with kids on the way, and nearly all of us are either college educated or trained in skilled work. I think it really depends on where you go; I find that the type Benni describes tend to congregate in the large cities and metropolitan centers, whereas the rest of us in the smaller towns and rural areas are more like Wicked describes.
Working at the school it seems like we have significantly more "troubled" kids than I remember there being when I was growing up. Does it seem that way to you?IMHO young people of this times are different people completely from us, we where different of our parents BUT we were a more "modern " version of them, of their values ect. But now they are different game completely.
I'm in a rural area( hush up Banty.) . most of the kids around here are pretty good kids. The problem here is it's such a small place everyone knows everyone's personal business and it seems the kiddos that have it rough at home seem to have it rough at school too. They kind of get socially isolated and then start acting out. Something a kid did in elementary school will follow them until their senior year. .Don't know if you'd consider me part of that "young generation" (born in '92 here) but I can agree with both statements. Yes I agree, I never generalize and say that ALL the Youngs are like that, the family is a huge factor, but I can see that it isn't a marginalDon't know if you'd consider me part of that "young generation" (born in '92 here) but I can agree with both statements. Extremely! How "westernized" is Israel in general, and Tel Aviv in particular?
Awful is not the word, for example in the vast majority of our cities a man or a woman can go 24/7 without any fear, and we don't have a lot of cases of random violence, especially with firearms. Tel aviv is vibrant city that is a magnet to young people, but in my eyes alot of them, in where I visited, was looking and acting in a strange way, that I am not familiar to.It's ok, I just woke up my computer and hadn't logged off so sat there for a bit.

Yes, I comper the situation now and 25 years ago, much MUCH more ADD, ADHD, and students that are on the Autistic spectrum.
