One of my dogs name is Meatball (he's the one in my coffee cup.) I probably sound like a lunatic yelling, 'MEAT!' out the front door in the middle of the night. :lau
 
Not really. With the money I spent on vegetable plants this year, I could have gotten a good enough supply of peppers and tomatos to make a batch of chili. Or some sweet relish. Nothing grew because it was never warm enough long enough.
Frost advisory here last night had to cover as much as I could. Didn't though only dropped to 36*.

Does anyone else experienced sudden death in chickens? This makes my second one this year that just drop dead dead in the run/coop with no obvious symptoms. These hens are only a year-and-a-half old.

Yes. It's apparently common in sex links. I'm assuming you are having it in your heritage RIR though. Sorry about that!
