One of my dogs name is Meatball (he's the one in my coffee cup.) I probably sound like a lunatic yelling, 'MEAT!' out the front door in the middle of the night.

Not really. With the money I spent on vegetable plants this year, I could have gotten a good enough supply of peppers and tomatos to make a batch of chili. Or some sweet relish. Nothing grew because it was never warm enough long enough.

Frost advisory here last night had to cover as much as I could. Didn't though only dropped to 36*.

Does anyone else experienced sudden death in chickens? This makes my second one this year that just drop dead dead in the run/coop with no obvious symptoms. These hens are only a year-and-a-half old.

No when I found her last night she already stunk I just grabbed her and took her out and threw her way back in the back in the brush at the back of the property.

Yes. It's apparently common in sex links. I'm assuming you are having it in your heritage RIR though. Sorry about that!
