EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

What if #1 was a Chippendale dancer?
I have a feeling a Chippendale dancer would still be worthless to me. What good is he to me...unless he has carpentry skills for building new coops? I can't help but imagine he would cost me more than he's worth with the upkeep.

However the dunking bird will have me laughing for months!! And those laughs are free! :wee

so yesterday i had a massacre:

losses:
2 black calls that were grow outs
2 splash marans
3 white legbars
fuzz (silkied oegb mutt)
curly cue (frizzle EE)
road runner (oegb/silkie)
5 naked necks
Brownie (ayam cross)
Dalmatian (spitzhauben)
1 (or 2) blue/lavender marans

survivors:
1 CCL hen
2 white legbar cockerels
2 FBCM cockerels
1 birchen marans cockerel
1 splash marans pullet
1 fbcm pullet
3 EE hen
1 oegb mutt hen
1 NN pullet with crop issues
1 Icelandic pullet
My 2 turkeys
And 12 ducks (5 boys)
Oh no!!! A bear? I'm so sorry Liz! :hugs
This makes me feel a bit sick. It's so awful to lose one's loved birds. :(

could be, but no clue
i would think with so many lost it would be coyotes
i dont think a bear would do that much at a time and they tend to go for an easy (in the coop) meal rather than chasing dinner

I would think you would be able to tell if it was a bear. Gracefullness is not one of their traits when feeding. They would destroy feeders, fences and doors.

Nothing vacuums as bad as losing show birds just before a show...... This I know as a fact.
