So funny story: yesterday we went shopping for groceries as we usually do. Since the dog food was running low we decided to pick up our usual $7 bag of cheap food (dogs don't care, food is food to them). As we're getting ready to check out, we happen to run into Husband's dad, who is picking up treats for the dogs and snacks for the shop.

He then says no to cheap food and gives us a fifty to pay for the more expensive stuff. So now we have like three months worth of the more expensive food. Now if only we could get him to do that with the chickens!

Also speaking of which, Johnny gotta go. Caught him more than once attacking the girls over food, which should just not happen. He'll grab their hackles and pull hard until they back off the food and scratch and then sit there and eat all of it himself. Dude, I got you to protect the flock and make babies, not pull out the other birds' feathers.

It is most likely not that they were "not fertile" Just something happened during shipping to hinder any further development. Those same eggs most likely would have hatched at the place they were laid.

She said later that they did indeed have no bullseyes, just the single dot of an infertile egg.

After 10 days (or ) whatever in the incubator would you still see the bullseye. When I looked at the photos, I thought I saw what could have been one.

BTW implying I might be wrong is just not a feasible response from anyone.......
