EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I impulse on breeds I don't see all day from sunrise to sunset.. Not always a good decision, boy it breaks the repetiticious cycle

That's kind of what I plan on doing this spring, I've already been shopping on the cackle hatchery website on different breed specials, I do plan on getting more EE females, I do like to hatch a few of my own after summer and the younger birds start laying, just to see how they turn out.

I don't lose "a lot of" birds, but they definitely don't seem to multiply into hundreds, like some people say! lol

That sounds nice.
wanna see sum placenta covered bacon babies? hub cap has sum pics that will make you want to avoid bacon for a couple weeks... I think her tubes are empty.. the last one was shrink wrapped as always... poke, tear and teet time.... Hang on untill the card is read, good stuff..

Cackle is where my first Australorps came from. I like the way they work.

chicken numbers sneak up on you is what happens. You think you have 10 and then you count them and you have 30. Where do they come from? Maybe from the eggs that somehow fall into the incubator...The 6 that somehow show up after a trip to the feed store...

They are very sneaky...Or do I have a secret identity....

I don't lose birds unless they are valuable or loved, it seems. :/

I've lost 2/7 PC so far, to various things---even my RSL haven't died off that much. :barnie
I usually have 1--2 deaths per year in a flock of about 40. This year I've had 8. Mostly predators except for the PC and the RSL.
