EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I guy just responded to our classified ad for our chickens. We have them listed for $10 each for the 4 month old ones and we have around 60 of them. He asked if he bought all 60 could we take $3 each?
No wonder DH gets huffy/puffy.
60 birds eat $25+ a week (min). /16 weeks X $25= $400.
60 birds X $3 = $90
Resulting in the loss of $310.
Not including time and effort, health care, heat lamps.
Just like Hub says.. we have 6 freezers and 4 BBQ grills.
The proceeds from those sales help with the other age birds as well. There are 30 under lamps right now and about 50 in the barn too. $ breeding houses that need feed for around 30 birds. My big egg house has 70+ birds eating up feed.
$3 dollars a bird is an insult. AND to say "you have my number if you change your mind", just sweetens the deal..

what is leaking??
My brains.

Will someone please tell me how I can find the main water shut off to the house? It's city water.
Shaw just jogged my memory. Bear in mind, I've only encountered this once, but here goes:
Somewhere, probably out near the road, there should be a cap, similar to a manhole cover only a lot smaller around. It should be at or slightly below the surface (if dirt & grass have mostly covered it). Removal of that cap should give you access to the plumbing below, which contains the main shutoff. I believe, however, that a specialized tool is needed to adjust the main. You would probably need a permit, if you are allowed to do anything to it at all. Utility companies normally take a dim view of anyone other than their own people messing with their stuff.

You trying to fix your kitchen sink? You shouldn't need to shut off the main; there should be a shutoff valve under the sink.

Or a valve somewhere where the pipe comes in from the road. In the basement or crawl space...Will look like a hose shut off...

I've never lived in a house that has a main shut off. Always had to get down in the man hole thingy with a special tool called a thingamaBobby. And no. . the city doesn't like us folks having those thing a ma Bobby dealy jigs. They want you to call them instead so your whole house can flood before they get there.
